Find Rest

As Christian worship team members, we pour our hearts and souls into leading our congregations in worship during the Christmas season. From rehearsing and preparing for special Christmas services to leading worship at multiple events, the demands on our time and energy can be intense.

But it's important to remember that we are human, and we need rest and rejuvenation just like anyone else. After the busyness of Christmas, it's crucial for worship team members to take some time to rest and recharge.

There are several reasons why rest is important for worship team members after Christmas. First, rest allows us to refill our own spiritual tanks. Leading worship can be emotionally and spiritually draining, and it's important to make time for personal spiritual practices like prayer and Bible reading to refill and renew our own spiritual well-being.

Second, rest helps us to avoid burnout. If we don't take the time to rest and recharge, we risk becoming exhausted and overwhelmed, which can lead to burnout and decreased effectiveness in our roles as worship team members.

Finally, rest allows us to be more present and focused when we return to leading worship. When we are well-rested, we are able to give our best selves to leading worship and serving our congregations.

So, to all the worship team members out there: after the busyness of Christmas, make sure to take some time to rest and recharge. Your congregations will be better served by a well-rested and renewed worship team.
